Bob Pfaltz attended trade school to learn residential construction and cabinetry. “But I went into construction always with a mind of one day getting more involved in woodworking and shop work,” he says. While working for many years as a homebuilder, Bob discovered he had a special affinity for hanging doors. “After getting too many doors where the workmanship wasn’t that great, it got me thinking about crafting quality, well-made doors that were perfectly square,” he says.

“Even if the door is plain in design, it will always be furniture quality,” Bob adds. “I’m an extremely detail-conscious and meticulous craftsman—you could even say I’m a perfectionist. If a door meets my standards, you can bet it’s ready for the client.

“When I’m finishing a door job, I’ll think to myself: This is really nice. I hope the homeowner appreciates it as much as I do.”

Doors Made to Order

“This is not a high-volume operation,” Bob says; “no entry level or semi-skilled person will be constructing your doors. Rather, I run a true one-man, artisan enterprise. When you call on the phone—and please don’t be afraid to call in the evenings—you will speak to me, not to a salesperson. Later, if after we discuss your project you choose to work with me, I will personally handcraft each of your doors. I keep no inventory in stock to fill orders with. The doors I build for you will be unique to your specifications and your home’s needs and style.”
